An important part of living life independently as an adult is having the ability to provide for your own basic needs. A person with cognitive or physical disabilities will often have a diminished capacity for employment, resulting in limited earning power and therefore an inability to meet their needs by maintaining financial independence. Our firm has been among the leaders in providing advice and counsel to individuals with special needs and providing proper planning for their family members since the joining of the partnership by Robert G. Gunderson in 1984. Bob became prominent in the disability community for his service and his legacy continues with the firm to this day.
The firm provides expert services relating to the establishment of guardianship, to the planning for managing resources and eligibility for government assistance programs under the rules of Social Security and Medical Assistance (Medicaid), and to special concerns such as those related to housing and other issues.
